The goal of this staged reading was to incorporate telematic technology into theatrical performance. By performing two original plays, in two different spaces, audiences were able to watch both plays communicate with one another.

Both plays tell the story of the Santos siblings, and how they respond to a shattering 8.2 magnitude earthquake that has struck their home in Southern California.  Martin has moved to Seattle and surveys the damage states away, while Gabby has to deal with the damage and the survivors at the AeroCorp base. Both productions interact with each other from different regions of the UC Irvine campus, as the characters rely on each other to make the right choice in the midst of an emergency.

Local playback for audio and video was done in QLab in both spaces. QLab triggers snapshots in QSC QSys, which was used for routing telematic audio between the two spaces, and triggers commands for UltraGrid to send the video across the network.
